Python image resizing, installing PIL -

i want image resizing python. trying python image library. barking right tree?

i tried install pil on mac source http://www.pythonware.com/products/pil/, has not been updated since 09. there newer should into?

installing gives me error: 

unable execute gcc-4.0: no such file or directory error: command 'gcc-4.0' failed exit status 1

i tried installing gcc think have 4.2.1

any help?

yes pil right module. can try imagemagick
